Construction of a wall part for LA wall project on November 9th, 2009
This is the beginning of the construction of a recreated piece of the Berlin Wall for the Wall Project event of the Los Angeles Wende Museum to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The wall consists of a simple metal frame that gets Stauss Clay Lath affixed which is then plastered.

Affixing to the support construction is very simple. In this case metal wire was used to stitch the Clay Lath and the support frame together.
Applying rough plaster onto wall piece built with claylath
The plasterer just started his job of covering the entire construction with plaster. Since Stauss Brick Lath is coated with clay it will have a perfect adherence.
Plaster squeezes through little holes on the brick-lath
Here you can see how the plaster pushes through the little holes within the Brick Mesh. Later on when the plaster sets it creates a strong and solid connection but still enables the whole construction to absorb vibrations and shakings. The Clay lath, affixed to a simple metal or wooden frame construction can be used to substitute the common drywalls which contain mold attracting gipsum.
